Tip #5: Keep Your Antivirus Software Updated
You do have antivirus software, right? If not, for earlier versions of Windows as well as Macs and Linux I recommend an Internet security program like Trend MicroTM PC-cillinTM Internet Security because it also includes a firewall. For Windows XP and Vista, I recommend the Windows OneCareTM service because it also helps back up your files and keep your Windows PC tuned for optimum performance.
Frequent updates are the key to keeping your antivirus software as effective as possible. My software is set to automatically download and deploy updates every hour, to minimize the chance of an infection by a fast-spreading virus or worm.
