Instructions for enabling password protection on the most popular wireless routers:
The bestselling wireless routers on Amazon are from Cisco-Linksys, D-Link, and Netgear.
For help with Cisco-Linksys routers, go to homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/linksys and enter or click on your model number, which can be found on the sticker on the bottom of the device. Once on the product page, click the Guide Me tab where you can Enter A Question or click on a link in the Hot Topics to get help.
For D-Link routers, go to www.dlink.com/support/products/#wireless and click on the link for your model. Once on the product page, click the Support Resources button. From there you can click on the Product Manual or Quick Install Guides links to get help.
For Netgear routers, go to kb.netgear.com/app/ and enter your model number. Get help finding your model number here kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10727.
