Search engine optimization.
Search engine optimization is the process of setting up a web site so it can be found through Google, Yahoo! and other search engines. Here are some techniques we use to optimize the architecture of a site so each page has the best chance of being found for one particular search phrase:

Make the phrase the actual filename of the page, using dashes instead of spaces i.e. public-golf-course.htm. |

Make the HTML page title the same as the phrase i.e. <title>Public Golf Course</title>. |

Create a unique description meta tag for each page that includes the phrase plus a call to action. |

Create a unique keywords meta tag for each page that includes any common misspellings. |

|
Put the phrase for each page inside <h1> tags as close as possible to the top of the page. |

Create either a footer or a site map with each phrase appearing as a text link to the related page. |

The content of each page should also contain the keywords for which the page is optimized, but not so often as to appear unnatural or search engines will penalize you. Publishing a blog is a great way to add frequently updated content to your site, as sites that are kept current tend to rank higher in search results.
